The holy TV by Allen Lockington

DURING the Wellington Sevens, many people who had disconnected Sky Pacific had to pay to get reconnected just to be able to watch the free-to-air channel. Because it's incorporated in the deal pay and watch the free-to-air channel.
I'm wondering if they really needed to get reconnected just to watch the Sevens, all they had to do was use their old VHF or UHF antennae and get the free-to-air coverage. Many people have complained about repeat programs (I have no problem with that). Anyway all TV stations have to replay programs for those who may have missed its telecast. A friend came home and said with a laugh, "I was at Fiji TVs office in Lautoka to reconnect my Sky Pacific and I know some people will not be eating next week. They had to pay reconnection fees to watch the Sevens.
Times are hard and some of them have sacrificed hard earned money to watch two days of Sevens and then turn the TV off because they have restricted themselves from watching TV on the weekdays because of the kids. It's money gone down the drain." I told him FijiTV should not be blamed, if you want TV pay and watch. He said, "Unfortunately rugby takes precedent this time round."
It's fantastic how we rate our priorities.
At one end of Waiyavi one family bought a 29-inch TV and when the truck arrived it was like something holy had arrived.
