Controlling spending by Allen Lockington

WOULD the Bureau of Stats or FIRCA be able to tell us how much money was spent on alcohol and tobacco from November 2009 to the first week of January 2010?
It will be for indication only to the public so we the taxpayers can see and say, "Oh no we spent too little, government needs more tax to build roads and fix water pipes."
On the other hand, the amount can shock us into being wiser and not spend so much on these two things.
Tobacco especially is a useless commodity.
It's not healthy, its stinks the home and breath, it cause cancer, it affects unborn babies, it affects your fitness, yellows the teeth and the tobacco company can't sponsor anything.
There is nothing good health wise in tobacco products. Did someone say it gives peace of mind? Peace of mind my foot.
But by golly it sure collects much money. Can the figures be released for interest's sake?
