International Women’s Day today

Women all over the country should be respected as they contributed immensely to the development of families, societies and the economy as a whole said Fiji Women's Crisis Centre Coordinator Shameema Ali.
With a number of activities organized to mark International Women's Day today, Ms Ali said the main message to women is to always have dignity and not let anyone degrade them.
To the Day, the FWCC has organized workshops, marches, meetings and discussions.
Their annual Reclaim the March will be from 7 tonight from the flea market.
Soqosoqo Vakamarama General Secretary Adi Finau Tabakaucoro said there are a lot of opportunities out there which is reachable through the help of government.
Meanwhile, the Ministry for women's national program will be held at the Civic Centre in Suva and this will also include workshops and panel discussions mainly on the implementation of the Domestic Violence Decree and the new Crimes Decree.
Also, the Fiji Human Rights Commission will be launching brochures in relation to the International Women's Day celebrations.
The Chief Guest for the celebrations at the Commission will be the Chief Registrar Ana Rokomokoti.
