China TV to make travel documentary on Fiji

The South Pacific Tourism Organisation, Tourism Fiji and Air Pacific have commissioned the China Central Television to make a documentary program on Fiji’s tourism attractions for the Chinese and other Asian markets.

The SPTO started negotiating with CCTV at the Shanghai World Expo and got commitment for a crew of four reporters and cameramen to undertake the project.

The SPTO’s Ilisoni Vuidreketi, says the aim is to help establish the South Pacific and Fiji brand names in China, which is an important emerging tourist market for the region.

He says it’ll create an excellent platform for some follow up tactical marketing initiatives during the remaining weeks of the Shanghai World Expo.
