People of Fiji has enjoyed free call services through 919 to report crime to police in the past years and now they will be able to do the same through 919 text service.

Crime Stoppers is in the process of its preparations to provide text services through 919 in partnership with Vodafone Fiji.

Vodafone Fiji has agreed to provide the services and Crime Stoppers will meet Vodafone next week to finalize the deal and prepare for the launching of the 919 text services.

National Coordinator Crime Stoppers Inspector Josaia Weicavu said that 919 text service will be of a greater advantage to the people because sometimes people are in a position where they cannot make a call because they can be heard, so texting is another option.

“I would like to advise the people to make use of the 919 text services after it is launched because sometimes the 919 call service through landline is busy and people can use 919 text service instead,” added Inspector Weicavu.
