Former RBF Governor to speak on regional economy

The one day presentation will focus on the topic 'Surviving in these turbulent economic times: The challenges of the region".

The talk is being organised by the Economic Association of Solomon Islands.

The Association said in a statement said the topic is timely and appropriate given the recent global economic crisis.

Mr Narube has had a very wide experience in central banking and government sectors.

He served in government as permanent secretary for finance and had a long distinguished career with the Reserve Bank of Fiji.

Mr Narube was replaced as Fiji’s Reserve Bank Governor less than a year ago, and is now a consultant for the Asian Development Bank under the Pacific Economic Management Programme.
