Central College Lautoka

From the Principal

The School was established with the avowed objectives of providing holistic education in arts, science, technology and extra curricular activities to all those irrespective of colour, creed or race who have completed their primary school education and are keen on pursuing and successfully completing their secondary education in this institution.

The objectives are still being pursued with vigour to ensure that all students passing through its portals are able to adapt successfully to niches that society offer and become worthwhile contributors.

Since its inception in 1994 the school is slowly defining its place and presence locally, and nationally. In endeavouring to produce a culture of excellence, the school has provided facilities comparable to the best an institution can offer. With such a short tenure of life it has come a long way and has achieved so much in its contribution.

With a vision and mission that is progressive and ongoing the future ahead is challenging but bright.

There are plans in place to make the institution more attractive to prospective stakeholders. Not only is the school endeavoring to be academically the best it aims to explore the latent talents of students to the fullest through the extra – curricular programmes it plans to offer from 2009. So there are exciting times ahead for the institution.

Winds of change blowing through the education system with emphasis on change in the national curriculum by the NCF and the introduction of Standard Monitoring System (SMS) with its emphasis on change in approach, mentality, school culture and professionalism, augurs well for the school for it will be assessed only on what it does best.

This year has definitely been a greatly disturbed one due to the turnover of staff and never in the first two terms of this academic year has there been a full complement of sanctioned staff, until term 3. Regardless, there is high optimism in the external exam results early next year.

Gratitude is extended to all stakeholders of this institution for their wholehearted selfless contribution this year. The school is looking forward to a more fruitful partnership in the years ahead, in its pursuit to produce successful and productive citizens.

Have a blessed Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
