PRINCIPAL’S REPORT
INTRODUCTION
All school activities, academic and non-academic were successfully carried out last year.
The school reopened this year on 21/01/08.
The first week of the Term as usual was spent on enrolment and grouping students into appropriate forms.
The school was closed for in second week due to Cyclone Gene on 28/01/08. From the third week the school activities ran smoothly without disturbance.
We had Inter-House Athletics on 27th and 28th February and Zone II Meet on 27th March, 2008. The First Term End Exam will be conducted from 18/4/08 to 23/04/08.
All the external exam results (FJC, FSLC, FSFE) for the year 2007 were excellent.
STAFF ROLL
Staff Roll for 2008 is 39. Eight new teachers replaced those who either resigned, transferred or migrated.
SCHOOL ROLL
School Roll for 2008 is 954.
CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT & MAINTENANCE
• The staff and students appreciate and thank the Board for undertaking development projects (Fencing and Gate and New Basic Technology Workshop) which would definitely enhance the teaching and learning process at the school.
• One hundred new desks and chairs were brought for Form 5 classrooms. Thirty pairs of new desk and chairs were donated by European Union last year December.
• School needs to buy some more desks (100) to furnish the rest of the classrooms (F6 & F7).
• Some equipment and Chemicals for Science Laboratory were brought.
• School bought twelve new computers from Bondwell Co. Lt Ltd for the sum of $11988 with complimentary Printers (12).
