NAMASTE
It is my profound pleasure and priviledge to forward a brief message to all the well wishers of Nadroga Arya College.
Definitely holding the reins of year 2008 is an inspiring and challenging task for me. However, I have been blessed with a group of very industrious teachers who are ready to take up the challenges ahead of them this year. A special mention and credit to the pioneer Principal Mr Shrees Chand, for his dynamic leadership and vision he had for the College.
Teachers are like glittering stars, absorbed day and night in helping the students to evolve into sterling characters. Even on foggy and stormy nights the stars stay in their places and perform the cosmic function – noticed or unnoticed the work goes on quietly without any interruption.
Fijis Education System is undergoing massive changes in its curriculum. The Fiji Islands National Curriculum Framework (NCF) sets out the changes that will be implemented in years to come.
It would be very difficult to implement some of these change unless parents play an active role. It must be clearly understood that shaping a child holistically is not only in the hands of the teachers. Parents as well as the community play a vital role in bringing about constructive changes in children.
The home environment is fully responsible in moulding the life of a child because the guidance offered by parents and tradition established by elders, have a considerable bearing in the receptive mind of a child.
Thus, as a parent one should not fail in one’s duty of nourishing a child accordingly. It is high time that these parents who rely too much on teachers realize the vital influence that they have and consider to play an active role in their children’s education.
To conclude, I wish to express my sincere gratitude to the Board Chairman , Pt Kamlesh Arya and the board of members for their continued support and guidance in enabling me in carrying out all my duties.
