Hope you enjoying photoshop. Photoshop is a good start. First we learn drawing, paintings than in computers we use softwares to do paintings etc. I use photoshop alot for my animation projects. All textures are created using photoshop. Theres are many other programs but as you said have to start somewhere. Hope to see you work and enjoy what you do. Cheers.
